The Country Christmas tree skirt pattern by Laura and Rita DeMarco was given as a class at Creative Friends in Hollister, CA. Mary couldn't attend but thanks to the now-retired proprietors Mary Lundquist and Karen Coatsworth, she was able to get a copy of the pattern.
The pattern called for the use of many different patterns but she decided to use only four fabrics. She added extra borders to accomodate a large tree, but when it came
time to cut the hole, she and her husband agreed it was too pretty to use as a tree skirt under a pile of presents. So, she used it as a tablecloth (covered with plastic!) and placed the desserts on it.
Mary has already cut enough fabric to make three more for the 2005 holiday season.
