Giant Pinwheel
Julee made this large quilt using the same layout as Mark's Pinwheel Four Patch. This time the pinwheels are MUCH bigger! She started with 14" squares which were cut at 75° angles, horizontally and vertically. The resulting pieces were laid out randomly on the living room floor and then rearranged until the pattern was satisfactory. A digital picture was taken to preserve layout. After sewing the four pieces together each block was trimmed to 12½" and then re-laid out so the rows could be sewn together. This quilt was machine quilted using the large meandering pattern.
